Hi, I'm Jiwon

web developer

I’m currently studying Computer Science at the University of Maryland, with a strong passion for building innovative solutions that make a meaningful impact on users' lives. I interned as a Software Engineer at a health tech startup, where I contributed to developing wearable products that improve healthcare. I enjoy working on projects from start to finish and love the challenge of creating software that makes a real difference.

I’m always looking for new ways to grow and expand my skill set.

Sensable Inc.

Software Engineer Intern

Jul 2024 - Apr 2025

I develop both the front end and back end of our mobile application, integrating device data to provide real-time insights for our personalized healthcare AI coach models. I ensure optimal performance with user-friendly interfaces. I work with AWS services and contribute to end-to-end product development. I stay updated on industry trends and actively participate in weekly team meetings to discuss progress and challenges.

Social Learning and Decision Lab

Undergraduate Research Assistant

Feb 2024 - Sep 2024

I collaborated with faculty and graduate students to enhance engagement in online neuroscience experiments focused on delay discounting. My contributions include programming in JavaScript and Python to improve user interface and experience. I assisted in designing and reviewing experimental surveys using Qualtrics, ensuring clarity and effectiveness in data collection. This role deepened my understanding of the behavioral and neural computations involved in learning and decision-making.

Maryland Neuroimaging Center
| University of Maryland, College Park

Undergraduate Research Assistant

Oct 2023 - Feb 2024

I contributed to the Neural Tuning of Reading fMRI project by developing an algorithm in MATLAB under the guidance of a Research Scientist at the Maryland Neuroimaging Center, focusing on Cognitive Neuroscience. This algorithm analyzed patterns of similarity in written word features, running 160,000 iterations to enhance our understanding of brain activity related to reading. This work contributed to advancing our understanding of the neural mechanisms involved in reading processes.

University of Maryland, College Park

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science

2022 - present

I started my studies at UMD, where I am gaining a strong foundation in computer science and developing my skills in software development.
